Professional Services are provided by a team of Project Consultants, all vastly experienced in implementing Pro-8 solutions. The team is led by a Senior Projects Manager, who is highly experienced in implementing Pro solutions into a not-for-profit organisation.

Project Scoping

We have a tried and proven approach to the full identification of the detailed requirements of our clients. The first phase of any project is always the project definition or scoping phase. In essence this is a period of time where we take the information provided thus far; typically the Invitation to Tender / Request for Proposal and we work directly with business consultants and end users to establish the detail behind each element documented.

Our approach is really one of a 'gap analysis' as during the consultancy we use interactive access to the Pro-8 system. This enables a cross migration of ideas and requirements between the clients team and the ProTech team. More...

Configuration & Development

As the owners and authors of the Pro-7 Suite of application software, we are fully willing and able to implement changes and enhancements to the system.

We believe that research and product development is the essential element that keeps ProTech competitive and in our opinion, functionally ahead of all others in the sector.

We have just launched the latest version of the product suite Pro-8. The first release came in 1998 and was then called Pro2000. We continue to review and identify new features that will enhance the products usability. In most cases, these ideas are driven by the existing client base. We often undertake client review consultancy sessions where we demonstrate new features at a beta stage and ask for input prior to completion. More...

Often, the introduction of new technology creates a gap between those skills already possessed and those required to fully utilise the new system. ProTech recognises the importance of customising its training material and methods of delivery. This ensures that initial training sessions will produce well-motivated end users who are confident and who can apply new skills quickly and effectively.

ProTech's Training Department works with clients to identify its primary and secondary end-users, together with their differing needs and recommend the formation of training groups and plans for training deployment. Data Migration

CD-ROM

Data migration is one of the single largest risk factors in any project of this nature and it is critically important that it is well planned and executed.

Initially a review is jointly undertaken into the interim repository in which the different legacy databases should be placed. For smaller supporting databases we usually prescribe a pre determined Excel spreadsheet into which the data should be directly migrated. For larger data volumes we have template SQL tables that are used in a similar form. More...
